Married at The Waterfront Restaurant, Noosaville on Friday 6th March 2009
The story of Laurie Dunn and Jeremy Schalk is one that makes the heart skip a beat.
With three divine children, Kodi, Lachlan and Aiva, many asked why they needed to get married, but Laurie “wanted to make that formal commitment to one another” and so the plans began.
Originally to be married in their home town of Walgett, NSW, Laurie decided to enter the Bride to Be competition to “Win your dream wedding in Noosa”. Months later, she was surprised when she received the phone call, “I can’t believe it, this is a dream come true”, she said.
Events by Design and Natalie Page Photography together provided Laurie with a wonderful kick-start to her wedding plans, and so the scene was set...a wedding in Noosa, where all her friends and family could take some time out and enjoy a little holiday on the Sunshine Coast.
Laurie always had a very strong vision for her wedding day, and that was to create an elegant vintage feel, whilst also keeping the day light and entertaining.
Her Wedding Dream Team included:
The Waterfront Restaurant – offering the perfect backdrop for the ceremony and reception
Mondo Floral Designs – who created a divine vintage rose design throughout her bouquets and table settings.
Evalyn Parsons – who created soft and elegant up do’s for her and her bridesmaids
Kim Image Specialist – who managed the make-up for the day
Douglas Campbell – our very lovely celebrant
Noosa Wedding & Event Hire – who provided the stylish Tiffany chairs for the ceremony
DC Limos – who provided a 9-seater stretch to take the bridal party to the beach for photos
Mobydisc – music and entertainment
Natalie Page Photography – who captured the day in much details
Events by Design – who managed the planning & soft decor for the day
Special touches included the use of Laurie’s own birdcages and Events by Designs Swarovski crystal drops and baubles to create a stunning design hanging from the tree outside the Waterfront Restaurant.
This image is one of my favourites. But stay tuned to see more of Laurie’s wedding when we launch our new online gallery, from June 1st.
Congratulations Laurie and Jeremy. It was such an honour being part of your day. Thanks also to Bride to Be magazine for creating the opportunity for Laurie to win her “dream wedding in Noosa”.
Happy days!
Trudy
