Kelly & Timothy wed at Little Cove on Sunday 5th July, with a divine reception at Sails.

The wedding of Kelly & Timothy Smith has been such a lovely journey for the team at Events by Design.

It was just post Xmas 2008 when Kelly first contacted me to talk through her engagement to Timothy and their dream to have a beach wedding in Noosa, followed by a reception at Sails. From the very beginning, both the Bride & Groom knew exactly what they were looking for...a relaxed, elegant setting at Little Cove, followed by oysters, canapés and French champagne while watching the sunset over Laguna Bay, and then to settle into a formal three-course dinner. It sounds magical doesn’t it?  And it really was.

Kelly & Timothy met through their shared passion for good teeth...Timothy is a Dentist and Kelly studying to be, and they met in the dental firm where Tim is one of five partners and Kelly was assisting. I just love the story of how they connected. “We had both attended a work related seminar and Timothy had given me a lift home. As I was leaving he kissed me”, said Kelly. “You kissed me!” she explained. He said “Yes, is that ok?” to which Kelly replied “Probably not”. And so began the start of something magical.

Both Kelly & Tim share a love of fine food, wine and all things beautiful. They really wanted to create something special for their guests to remember. There were none of the usual formalities such as long speeches and bridal waltzing. The emphasis was always about putting on a grand dinner party, and Sails was the perfect spot.

The overall design was to be “elegant coastal” using a neutral colour palette of beige, antique white and ivory. We then added to this contrasting colour via green tip buds in the floral designs and lots of textured fabrics and furniture to create contrast throughout the day.  Every detail of this wedding was scrutinised over by the Events by Design team to ensure that it passed the “look, listen, touch, taste and smell feel-good test”. In other words, every element of the day was used to punctuate the senses.

From the soft muslin beach canopy created by Events by Design, to the smooth acoustic tunes played by Marty Sima, to the beautifully crafted wedding service by Celeste Frances Scott, to the absolutely stunning Tulip, Lisianthus and Hyacinth arrangements by Mondo Floral Designs, to the divine scented candles from Ecoya, and the delicious canapés and 3 course meal served up by Sails...everything was just so dreamy.
